Father Acquitted of First Degree Murder After Evidence Reveals Son’s Death Due to Latent Medical Condition
Charged with first degree murder in the death of his son. He was looking at a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. Barker and Tolini were able to show the jury the death was actually due to a latent medical condition and R.S. was found not guilty of all felony charges and is now free.
Colorado Supreme Court Reverses Drug Conviction Due to Illegal Surveillance, Establishing Precedent in G.S. Case
G.S. was arrested by the DEA and charged with numerous drug related crimes. He was alleged to be in possession of over 20 pounds of methamphetamine and multiple kilos of cocaine. G.S. was initially convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Barker and Tolini appealed the conviction all the way up to the Colorado Supreme Court. The Supreme Court reversed G.S.’s conviction and established the it was illegal for the DEA to use a pole camera to spy on a yard without a warrant. G.S.’s case made law in the state of Colorado.

P.M. was charged with three separate drug felony cases and was looking at over 200 years in prison. Furthermore, law enforcement seized over $300,000 from P.M.’s bank account.
